I’ve been working for this independent publisher in Hertford for about 20 years now. At first I was mainly proof-reading manuscripts – but over the years I’ve become involved in pretty much every aspect of the publishing process, from writing the company’s B2B and author communications, author press releases, synopses, back cover ‘blurbs’ and biogs to detailed edits, rewrites, character and plot development and ghost writing of complete titles. I still proof and edit manuscripts as part of the pre-production process – and recently I wrote, designed and built the company’s website (still a work in progress!)
